Sharing a message from a Beautiful Soul who I so fortunate to cross paths with online...several seasons ago. She was from England, and this scene describes a day that she took me into London for the day! It was indeed a trip I shall Always Remember! Enjoy! ;-)
Well what a day it has been my teeny tiny companion.
Cold day today. So you snuggled down in the folds of my scarf. I could feel you curled up in the crook of my neck breathing in my scent.
Today I had chosen vervaine. You closed your eyes and was transported to a Provençal summer. With scents of lavender and lemon coming to you from the warmth of my skin.
We travelled by train. You sat perched on an upturned cup. Watching the world outside speed by. Little legs dangling. Little eyes shining. I looked upon your delight and revelled in it myself.
45 minutes later with a hiss and grind of brakes we pulled into Kings Cross Station.
You wanted to sit upon my shoulder so you could whisper into my ear. Asking your questions. Looking at the beauty
of the arched roof. Exclaiming over the multitude of people. Glad to be on my shoulder and not skipping in between the feet of the world.

Picadilly Circus overwhelmed your senses slightly. All the lights. The statue of Eros on the roundabout caught your eye. The gold was glistening in the sunlight. As if alive.
But we didn't have time to stop and stare for too long. Lots to see. Lots to do.
We walked along. You exclaiming over the Christmas lights being put up. The spirit of Christmas they are called. Look like avenging angels. Hopefully coming to rid Christmas of the all encompassing consumerism.
I could feel your little fingers against my skin. Your little lips on my ear.
You were getting chilly.
We stopped at Harrods for the most English of crumpets and tea. They brought you your tea in a teeny silver teapot. Taken from a charm bracelet once owned by princess Grace of Monaco. A teeny china cup from a dolls house destined for a royal child.
You sat upon a velvet
cushion and sipped your tea. Most politely. Little finger raised. Giggling at the oh so polite
atmosphere.
We had hot buttered crumpets. As big as a mattress for you. You took a bite and laughed as the butter ran down your chin. Wiping them clean on a perfectly proportioned linen napkin. No bigger than a postage stamp. A sample from the wedding dress of an exotic princess.
Moving on down in the lifts. The escalators made to look like an Egyptian tomb. Breathtaking ostentatiousness everywhere you looked.
I needed to go to Libertys. A Tudor beamed building of delights. We went to the Christmas department and you rode the toy train. Through the tunnel as it hooted and whistled.
You waited patiently in the lingerie department whilst I was measured for new underwear. You curled up in the silken cup of a handmade bra and napped. Dreams of lights and big red buses drifting through your sleep
I carefully picked you up and you woke to find yourself in a black cab. On our
way to Buckingham palace. We went past the sights. We couldn't
believe how tall Big Ben was. How beautiful the Shard. How lit up the London Eye.
We fed the Ravens at the Tower of London. I smiled at your slight nervousness when a Beefeater approached us. But you sat on top of his hat and he took us around the 1000 year old buildings.
You smiled so much you complained your cheeks were sore. So I placed a gentle kiss upon each one.
Then a boat trip. Along the river. From tower bridge to Westminster. So much to see but the day was ebbing.

Buckingham palace. Look I said. Look up. That standard flying from the flagpole. That means the Queen is home she can see you.
Your eyes round you stood on the wall holding onto the railings.
Then the guards marched in. Their boots polished. Bear skin hats brushed. Buttons gleaming. Holding swords and guns. You just didn't know where to look.
You
pointed and exclaimed. Ooohed and aaahhed your eyes alight. Never had you seen such pomp and ceremony.

Then the band came in. Marching to the beat of the drum. Boots stepping in time.
The world stopped still. This was how it had been for hundreds of years. We could have been at any point in history.
Just us. Our world.

Then home. You sleepy. Curled up like a dormouse in my pocket. I carried you home.

My friend. My companion xxxxxx
